The same thing every day: brushing teeth, washing hands, packing the backpack, tidying up, putting on pyjamas. Constant reminding and nagging often adds stress to family life. Wisbel is a playful routine system that helps kids handle these steps more and more on their own. It takes pressure off parents, because it makes routines more visible, easier to understand, and more playful – so mum and dad don't have to repeat themselves ten times. Instead, one question is enough: have you wisbeled today?

The Story

One day, a small green alien lands its Ufo right in the middle of a family's garden. Wisbel has no idea how anything works on Earth. Brushing teeth? Washing hands? Tidying up toys? Putting on pyjamas? For Wisbel, all these everyday things are completely new – and it causes plenty of mischief and chaos along the way.

Luckily, there's Moritz, Noah, and Lucy. Together with Daria and Matteo, they show Wisbel how everyday life on Earth works. Lucy's glass marbles play a mysterious role in all of this. And Noah captures everything Wisbel discovers on its journey through family life with his Polaroid camera.

What the marbles are really about, and where Wisbel's journey leads, is something the kids find out in the picture book. And then something special happens: the story doesn't end on the last page.

Because what the kids discover with Wisbel in the book, they can hold in their own hands afterwards: the Polaroid photos become routine cards, the marbles can be collected, and Wisbel's Ufo gets a very special place in everyday family life.

So a story becomes a ritual that kids can keep going themselves, every day.

The Centrepiece

The Ufo collects the week's marbles: 14 hollows for 14 completed routines, plus a lockable capsule in the middle for the surprise at the end.

How Wisbel works at home

Hands-on rituals for two time windows: getting up to leaving the house in the morning, and coming home to bedtime in the evening.

Step 1

Choose the cards

Parents and kids pick out the matching cards for their morning and evening routines together.

Step 2

Complete the routine

Kids complete the routines shown on the Polaroids on their own and flip the card after each one is done.

Step 3

Earn a marble

Only once every card in that time window is flipped is there a marble for the wooden Ufo – a maximum of two per day. That way, all 14 hollows fill up over the course of a week.

Step 4

Open the capsule

Once all 14 slots are filled, the capsule with the surprise may be opened.

How Wisbel came to be

Wisbel was created by a mum, straight out of real family life.

The idea grew out of everyday experience with kids, recurring routines, constant reminding, overwhelm, and the question of how families can be given more ease in exactly these moments.

What started as a very practical challenge became, step by step, a system that gives kids orientation, builds independence, and takes parents out of the role of the constant nag.

The development was supported by educators as well as by François Matthey, founder of Unablenkbar and ADHSwas, who contributed his expertise on ADHD, family life, and children's self-regulation.

Wisbel didn't come from a theoretical concept, but from a combination of real family life, personal experience, pedagogical know-how, and expert exchange.
